Spiritual Direction

“Spiritual direction explores a deeper relationship with the spiritual aspect of being human. Simply put, spiritual direction is helping people tell their sacred stories everyday [sic].”*

Over the generations, as humans have become increasingly intellectual, rational, and, consequently, defined by scientific proofs, we have moved away, maybe even detached from things we cannot explain, things that might be considered Spirit or spiritual. Some of our most brilliant scientific minds have not felt this kind of division is necessary or even possible.

Spiritual direction does not attempt to exorcise or exile any part of human experience. The goal of spiritual direction is to integrate what we live with who we are – at our core, conscious and unconscious, human and spiritual.

My job is to listen – and hear – what you may not be able to hear on your own. I serve as a companion familiar with inner work and turn a light on the ways your inner truth connects with your personal story, with your place in the universe.

You determine the level of support you need to grow in the process of knowing yourself. Part of the work is to bring your intentions – the dispositions of your heart – to the surface. We explore your inner terrain and how that impacts the way you live. This process of getting to know yourself, of learning to be at home with yourself – within yourself – leads you to consider what you are being asked to do with your life.

As you move into greater compassion, honesty, and integrity, you decide how to respond to the invitations being extended to you – and how to live in increasing freedom. This is accomplished by putting your life experience, your personal story, into words and making it concrete every day.
